I’ve played several rounds of Timberman and the game mechanics reminded me a lot of Critter Panic. Both games have you tapping either side of the screen trying to match simple visual cues on the screen, with the goal of frequency under a time limit.
Timberman seems to distill this mechanic into a very simple form that falls into the quick death, one-more-time mentality that Flappy Bird helped to popularize in the mainstream.
